He's the first solo male to lead the list since Vance Joy in 2014.

Rag’n’Bone Man continues his rise on Billboard‘s rock radio airplay charts, as “Human” lifts moves 2-1 on the Alternative Songs tally dated March 25.

The breakthrough hit by the 32-year-old singer British singer-songwriter (born Rory Graham) previously ruled Adult Alternative Songs for five weeks beginning Feb. 11.

With his ascent to the top of Alternative Songs, Rag’n’Bone Man is the first solo male artist to reach No. 1 since Vance Joy, whose own introductory hit “Riptide” ruled for five weeks beginning Aug. 23, 2014. As alternative is traditionally a group-driven format, in between those two toppers, 30 No. 1s led the list, with 29 by duos or groups and one by a solo female (Elle King‘s “Ex’s & Oh’s” in 2015).

“Human” has charted on all four Billboard rock radio rankings, as it debuts this week at No. 40 on Mainstream Rock Songs. On the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart, it pushes 4-2 with 8 million impressions (up 2 percent) in the week ending March 12, according to Nielsen Music.

Rag’n’Bone Man’s debut studio album, also titled Human, debuted at No. 4 on Americana/Folk Albums and No. 19 on Top Rock Albums (March 4).
