Primary Wave Entertainment further expands its urban talent management division by partnering with music manager Toya Hankins. Hankins, founder of Detroit-based Project Producers, LLC, is the longtime manager of top-selling Motown artist Kem. In addition, Hankins will now oversee the day-to-day management of fellow R&B singer/songwriter and five-year Primary Wave client Eric Benét.

With more than 23 years of experience in brand imaging, tour marketing, radio promotion and video/concert production, Hankins began her music career in artist development at Undercurrent Records. That’s where she worked on then-newcomer Kem’s debut album, Can’t Figure You Out. Upon leaving Undercurrent, she established her own artist management and promotional company with Kem as its flagship client.
