Post Malone’s ‘Wow’ Tops Pop Songs Chart, Extending Republic Records’ Reign

"Wow" is his third No. 1, as the label leads for a 15th straight week.

Post Malone‘s “Wow.” takes over atop Billboard‘s Pop Songs radio airplay chart, rising 2-1 on the list dated June 22.

The track is Post’s third Pop Songs No. 1, after “Psycho,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, led for four weeks beginning on June 16, 2018, and “Better Now” ruled for two frames starting last Sept. 8.

The Pop Songs chart measures total weekly plays, as tabulated by Nielsen Music, among its reporting panel of 166 mainstream top 40 stations.

Meanwhile, with the coronation of “Wow.,” Republic Records runs its streak to 15 consecutive weeks atop Pop Songs, the second-longest continuous domination in the chart’s 26-year history. The track follows Jonas Brothers‘ “Sucker” after eight weeks at No. 1, the survey’s longest reign this year, and Ariana Grande‘s “7 Rings,” which led for six weeks.

The label boasts the longest No. 1 Pop Songs run since 1995-96, when Columbia Records controlled the chart for a record 17 straight weeks, thanks to two Mariah Carey smashes: “Fantasy” (for six weeks) and “One Sweet Day,” with Boyz II Men (11). Republic passes Capitol Records and Arista Records, each of which linked 14-week No. 1 streaks, in 1993 and 1994, respectively.
