Portugal. The Man’s ‘Feel It Still’ Ties Record for Longest-Leading Alternative Songs No. 1
The tune spends its 19th week at No. 1, tying Muse's "Madness" for the longevity mark.

A record that stood in the rock world for nearly five years has been tied, as Portugal. The Man‘s “Feel It Still” spends its 19th week at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Alternative Songs airplay chart (dated Dec. 2).
The song matches Muse‘s “Madness,” which ruled for 19 weeks, beginning on the chart dated Oct. 13, 2012.
“Feel,” which initially led Alternative Songs for 17 weeks beginning on the chart dated July 8, notches a second consecutive week back at No. 1 following a three-week stay at No. 2 while Imagine Dragons‘ “Thunder” took hold of the top spot.
Here is a look at the songs that have ruled Alternative Songs the longest since the chart launched on Sept. 10, 1988.
Most Weeks at No. 1 on Alternative Songs
19, “Feel It Still,” Portugal. The Man, 2017
19, “Madness,” Muse, 2012-13
18, “The Pretender,” Foo Fighters, 2007
17, “Uprising,” Muse, 2009-10
16, “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” Green Day, 2004-05
16, “It’s Been Awhile,” Staind, 2001

Concurrently, “Feel” spends its 17th week atop the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart, securing 11.3 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen Music. That ties the song for the fifth-most weeks at No. 1 (since the chart began in 2009) with Imagine Dragons’ “Believer,” which ruled for the 17 weeks prior to the reign of “Feel.”
Meanwhile, “Feel” cedes the all-rock-format Radio Songs summit after five weeks, as “Thunder” takes its place atop the chart, becoming Imagine Dragons’ first No. 1. The song also takes over for “Feel” atop Pop Songs.
Can “Feel” notch a record-breaking 20th week at No. 1 on Alternative Songs? The song is down 4 percent in plays on the latest chart and must contend with Thirty Seconds to Mars‘ “Walk on Water,” which rises 3-2 (up 1 percent), along with Beck‘s “Up All Night” (5-4, up 10 percent).
