Pitbull returns to the Top Latin Albums chart as Libertad 548, his 11th studio album, debuts at No. 12 on the Oct. 12-dated list. It’s the rapper’s first debut in over four years as he last posted a new entry on the chart when Dale opened at the summit in 2015.
Daddy Yankee, Ludacris, Becky G, Blake Shelton Wisin & Yandel, Natti Natasha and Lil Jon, and are just a few of the collaborators on the 13-track Spanglish effort whose “548” title figure accounts for the amount of people Pitbull’s father led to freedom in the Mariel Boatlift in 1980, as stated by the singer on social media.
Libertad, released Sept. 27 via Pitbull’s own Mr. 305 label, earned a little over 3,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Oct. 3, according to Nielsen Music, most of which stem from streaming activity (4 million on-demand audio streams collected for the songs on the album).
Only one of the set’s songs has secured a spot on the Hot Latin Songs chart and Latin Airplay chart: “No Lo Trates,” featuring Daddy Yankee and Natti Natasha; a No. 15 peak high on the former and No. 1 high on the latter (Sept. 14-dated chart).
With the move, Yankee, who collects his seventh straight No. 1 of the year, snags a total of 17 No. 1s, 11 of which have been through collaborations. He now ties with Romeo Santos and Ricky Martin as second-runner up for the most No. 1s, trailing Enrique Iglesias who holds the lead with 30. Meanwhile, Wisin & Yandel up their career count to 14 leaders.
On Hot Latin Songs, which blends airplay, streaming data and digital sales, “Si Supieras” continues ascending despite a decline in both sales and streams: 17-15 in the current tracking week.
