Katy Perry‘s “Daisies” broke into the top 10 of Billboard‘s Adult Pop Songs airplay chart this week (dated July 4), catapulting Perry into a league with other esteemed pop acts.
She became the fifth artist with at least 16 career top 10 hits on the chart, following Maroon 5 (25), Taylor Swift (22), P!nk (17) and Kelly Clarkson (16). To officially welcome her into the club, P!nk quoted the Billboard Charts Twitter account listing the aforementioned statistics yesterday (June 30), writing, “Congratulations Katy!!!!! Woot woot that’s a lot of ladies xoxo.”
Perry wrote back to P!nk (real name Alecia Moore), “The Moore the merrier” with heart and smiley face emojis as she used the singer’s last name as a play on words. Clarkson, who ties the “Daisies” singer with exactly 16 top 10 smashes, also gave the superstar her flowers via Twitter.
“Get it @katyperry you look BEAUTIFUL in this video #bytheway,” Clarkson wrote about her performance in the “Daisies” accompanying visual, which has garnered 19 million YouTube views since its May 14 premiere.
