Paul Karpowicz Elected Chairman, BMI Board of Directors
Paul Karpowicz, president of the Meredith Local Media Group, was elected chairman of the Board of Directors of Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) Monday.

Paul Karpowicz, president of the Meredith Local Media Group, was elected chairman of the Board of Directors of Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) Monday. He previously held the role of vice chair of the BMI Board of Directors and has been on the board since 2007. Karpowicz succeeds vice chairman of Sheridan Broadcasting Corporation and senior managing director of Brock Capital Group Susan Davenport Austin, who was elected presiding director.

Karpowicz has been president of Meredith since 2005 and is responsible for directing the group’s 12 television stations. In his nearly 30 years of experience in the industry, he spent more than 20 at LIN Media where he oversaw the growth of its station group from 12 to 23 stations and is a current member of the National Association of Broadcasters Executive Committee.
As well, the board of directors elected two new members: Caroline Beasley of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. and William S. Hoffman of Cox Media Group.
