Pandora has announced it is making its Premium on-demand service available on the web, bringing all its features that were previously only on the mobile app to laptops and desktops for the first time.
According to Pandora, Premium on the web has been the top requested platform by Pandora listeners. With the move, Pandora has developed a new, larger user experience that blends its radio function with the ability for users to search and play any track or album they wish.
The Premium web service also expands on traditional playlisting, by allowing users to start with one or two songs and then ask Pandora to “Add Similar Songs” or search through recommended songs and add them one-by-one.
Following news last month that the streaming service would be reducing its workforce by 5 percent and streamlining its operations to focus on audience development, Pandora is now touting this as delivering on its strategy to grow and more deeply engage its listener base with a more immersive experience.
