On Wednesday (Aug. 21), Pandora announced an expansion of its Independent Artist Submissions tool, offering new avenues for creators to grow their audience and engage with existing fans while also allowing for more submissions and reduced wait times.
The tool is part of Pandora’s Artist Marketing Platform (AMP), a suite of free, self-serve marketing tools. The company claims it has accepted more than 64,000 releases from more than 44,000 independent artists since launching the Independent Artist Submission tool, with breakthrough successes including singer-violinist Lindsey Stirling, bluegrass band Trampled By Turtles and cello-rock group Break of Reality.
Launched in October 2014, the AMP platform also includes analytics service Next Big Sound, Artist Audio Messages (allowing artists to speak directly to fans with personal soundbites), the music-boosting tool Featured Tracks and Pandora Stories, which allows artists to place voice tracks between songs on playlists to increase listener engagement.
