Ozzy Osbourne Reschedules ‘No More Tours 2’ European Outing For 2022
Ozzy Osbourne is pushing back the UK dates of his "No More Tours 2" outing until 2022 in an attempt to steer well clear of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ozzy Osbourne plans to steer well clear of the COVID-19 live music shutdown. After previously postponing his No More Tours 2 outing due to the global pandemic, the metal icon wife/manager Sharon Osbourne announced this week that Ozzy is going to give it a go in 2022.
“Everybody’s booking their tours again for like 2022, and to find availabilities right now, it’s crazy,” Sharon Osbourne reportedly told Planet Rock Radio for a special that aired on Sunday. “Agents and facilities are going nuts, trying to get everybody back. It will be exciting. I think it will be a very exciting time when bands do go back and it’ll be joyous.”
A spokesperson for Osbourne could not be reached for additional comment at press time and no rescheduled U.S. dates have been announced yet. Sharon said that Ozzy, 71, is on the mend after a rough couple of years in which he battled a staph infection in his hand, pneumonia, a fall re-aggravated an injury from a 2003 ATV accident that required surgery and a Parkinson’s diagnosis.
“I’m having physiotherapy five days a week, I’m slowly but surely getting… ask Sharon, she can say how I’m doing better than I can,” Ozzy saidm, with Sharon adding, “For Ozzy when everybody had to go in lockdown, it kind of set him back because he couldn’t do his physiotherapy. He had nearly five months of no physio and in those five months I think all he and I did was lie on the couch, watch TV and eat. It kind of set him back but he’s back to where he was before the pandemic. Since he’s been back working with the physio and every day I see an improvement, but it’s hard for Ozzy because you don’t see yourself as you really are. He’s getting there, he is. He will be back and be on that stage!”
Facing several years off the stage, the legendary rocker said he expects that stages will be packed with acts looking to make up for lost time once it’s safe to crowd into arenas again. “When they do get the vaccine and people do start going (to gigs), can you imagine how many tours are going to be out at once?” Ozzy said. And while Sharon said the competition for open nights in 2022 is getting very tight, the UK and some European dates for Ozzy’s tour have already been rebooked.
Sharon said Ozzy is also back in the studio working on a follow-up to Ordinary Man album, adding “we’re going to do a movie of Ozzy’s life story and he’s got to do the soundtrack to that… so I’ll keep him busy.”
