Ozuna collects his eighth top 10 hit, and fourth top five, on the Hot Latin Songs chart, as “El Farsante” climbs 15-5 in its 27th week on the chart dated Feb. 10, earning the Streaming Greatest Gainer honor of the week.
The surge can be attributed to the release of the song’s remix with Romeo Santos (and its music video) on Jan. 30.
Thanks largely to the popularity of the remix, “El Farsante” increases in all metrics: up 67 percent in streams to 7.8 million in the week ending Feb. 1, 527 percent in downloads to 5,000 sold and 213 percent in all-format audience impressions to 1.47 million in the week ending Feb. 4.
“El Farsante” gives Ozuna a trio of songs inside the top 10 of Hot Latin Songs, as he holds steady at No. 4 with “La Modelo,” with Cardi B, and dips 7-9 with “Criminal,” with Natti Natasha.
Although Ozuna had notched three top five hits on Hot Latin Songs before, “El Farsante” is the first to come from his debut studio album Odisea, which has spent 23 weeks at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart. He previously visited the top five of Hot Latin Songs as the featured act on Wisin‘s “Escápate Conmigo” (No. 3; Jul. 1, 2017) and with his own “Criminal” with Natti Natasha (No. 5; Jan. 3, 2018) and “La Modelo” with Cardi B (No. 3; Jan. 6, 2018).
With 23 weeks at No. 1, Odisea is tied for the sixth-most weeks at No. 1 in the 24-year history of the Top Latin Albums chart. It matches the chart-topping run of Aventura‘s The Last (2009-2010). Ahead of them are: Daddy Yankee‘s Barrio Fino (24 weeks, 2004-2005), Ricky Martin‘s Vuelve (26; 1998-1999), Luis Miguel‘s Segundo Romance (29; 1995-1996), Selena‘s Dreaming of You (44; 1995-1996) and Gloria Estefan‘s Mi Tierra (58; 1993-1994).
