The Orchard has struck a global distribution deal with Rimas Entertainment, Noah Assad‘s Latin music specialist that boasts Bad Bunny, Jowell & Randy, Arcángel, Eladio Carrión and others on its roster.

As part of the new relationship, Rimas and The Orchard have created SONAR, a new label dedicated to distributing the works of rising independent artists.

Through this new venture, a statement explains, both partners will use their respective strengths in release strategy, distribution, and artist development to support new and emerging artists throughout Latin America.

Rimas Entertainment is enjoying a searing-hot streak. The music company’s superstar Bad Bunny is riding high with hit albums YHLQMDLG, Las Que No Iban A Salir, and El Último Tour Del Mundo, the latter of which became the first all Spanish-language title to hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200.

Assad, too, has been on fire. The group’s CEO launched Rimas Entertainment in 2014. Two years later, he discovered Bad Bunny, and has been the artist’s manager ever since. As the years passed, the company grew from a staff of six to 60 and opened offices in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Miami, and Assad received Billboard’s New Power Generation award, given to executives on the rise, at the 2019 Power 100 event.

“I feel incredibly grateful for this new partnership with The Orchard family,” comments Assad in a statement. “I’m so thankful to join forces with The Orchard’s incredible teams, including Brad Navin and Jason Pascal. Now that we have finally joined forces, we are extremely happy to begin this new journey and eager to continue bringing more music to the world.”

The Orchard, along with Assad’s creative vision, will “give these artists the tools to further break barriers through the power of their music,” adds Brad Navin, CEO of The Orchard. “The landscape of global music has changed and fans are looking for new sounds to experience.”

The distribution arrangement covers Rimas Entertainment’s catalog, new projects and enables its roster to have access to The Orchard’s artist and label services.

Additionally, Rimas Entertainment’s artists’ YouTube channels will become a part of The Orchard’s multi-channel network, which comprises more than 1,000 channels.

Together, adds Navin, both companies “are creating a pipeline for these artists to build a more diverse fan base and audience.”
