One Direction, Selena Gomez & More See AMAs Spike on Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks
Several performers and winners of the 2015 American Music Awards score big on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks, led by One Direction's "Perfect."

Following the 2015 American Music Awards, which aired Nov. 22 on ABC, several of the night’s performers and winners score big on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart, dated Dec. 12 (which covers activity over Nov. 23-29).
Dual winner One Direction leads the pack, as its single “Perfect” rebounds 7-2 after the lads performed the song. The quartet snagged two of the night’s most coveted prizes, artist of the year and favorite pop/rock band duo/group. “Perfect,” which topped the chart in October, is from the group’s album Made in the A.M., which debuted at No. 2 on the Dec. 5 Billboard 200. The set marks 1D’s last album before it plans to take an extended hiatus in early 2016.

Likewise, 5 Seconds of Summer, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez each race back into the top 10 thanks to their performances. The Australian pop-punk band’s “Hey Everybody!” zooms 35-6, the song’s highest peak since reaching the same mark on the chart dated Nov. 14. That same frame, “Everybody” parent album Sounds Good Feels Good blasted onto the Billboard 200 at No. 1. Lovato’s “Confident” surges 12-7 on Top Tracks (after hitting No. 1 in October), while Gomez’s “Same Old Love” jolts 40-9 (after reaching No. 2 upon its September debut). “Confident” is the title track to Lovato’s fifth studio album, released in October, while Gomez hit’s is the second single from Revival, which bowed atop the Oct. 31 Billboard 200.
The Weeknd‘s AMAs performance of “The Hills” sends the R&B star’s song shooting to a No. 25 Top Tracks re-entry, fittingly in the song’s 25th chart week (dating to its No. 1 debut June 13). In addition to singing the six-week Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, the Canadian’s breakout year produced trophies for favorite soul/R&B male artist and favorite soul/R&B album for Beauty Behind The Madness. The set logged three weeks atop the Billboard 200 in September and October.
Coldplay took to the AMAs stage to promote new single “Adventure of a Lifetime,” which makes a No. 15 re-entry on Top Tracks following the performance. The song ushers in the band’s seventh, and potentially final, studio album, A Head Full of Dreams, out today (Dec. 4). The set also boasts “Hymn for the Weekend,” which features Beyoncé and vocal samples from President Obama and frontman Chris Martin‘s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
Plus, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis debuted a new track, “Kevin,” on the AMAs and the song, which features soul singer Leon Bridges, enters Top Tracks at No. 31. The poignant song confronts the grim realities of drug addiction and was inspired by the death of Macklemore’s friend. “Kevin” returns the Seattle duo to the chart for the first time since Sept. 26, when its comeback track “Downtown” reached No. 31. The pair is currently preparing the follow-up to its 2012 breakthrough album, The Heist.
