Florida’s Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival is back with a stacked lineup that’s light on the ’70s heritage acts, soul and R&B but makes up for it with heavy hitters from the dance, pop and rock world.
Okeechobee has long stood out for offering a wide berth of styles and performances. Usher and Kendrick Lamar have shared stages with Robert Plant, Bassnectar, Hall & Oates and Arcade Fire. The event went on hiatus in 2019 and was eventually sold to Insomniac, the same company behind massive dance music festivals Electric Daisy Carnival and Holy Ship. The change-up is felt in an increasingly DJ-heavy bill, but there’s still a lot for people who like guitars and MCs.
Alongside big-name dance acts Kaskade, Big Gigantic and Alison Wonderland, look for Sublime With Rome and Haim, plus a happy return from Glass Animals, who was forced to cancel a 2018 tour after the drummer suffered a car accident. Rap fans will enjoy sets from Machine Gun Kelly, Gunna, Flatbush Zombies and more.
The festival’s popular Powwow performances will return, which puts artists of varying styles on stage with one another for a rousing set of covers and improvisations. It’s a highlight of the weekend, so if you go, don’t miss it.
Okeechobee returns to Sunshine Grove in Florida Thursday to Sunday, March 5 to 8. Tickets go on sale Passes go on sale Friday, October 18, at 10:00 a.m. ET.
