NLE Choppa makes his first visit to the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 4), as his breakthrough single “Shotta Flow” debuts at No. 96.

The track from the 16-year-old Memphis rapper (real name: Bryson Potts) arrives with 9.7 million U.S. streams (up 3%) and 1,000 downloads sold (up 52%) in the latest tracking week, according to Nielsen Music.

As the single’s profile has continued to surge in recent weeks, a bidding war sparked for him among record labels Republic, Interscope and Caroline, as Billboard reported last week. NLE Choppa (the NLE stands for “No Love Entertainment”) reportedly turned down the offers and entered a distribution partnership with independent distribution company UnitedMasters, to retain full ownership of his master recordings.
