National Independent Venue Association to Offer Healthcare Benefits For Members

NIVA Care is designed to provide full and part-time employees and 1099 contractors of independent venues, promoters and festivals access to affordable health insurance.

The National Independent Venue Association has unveiled a live music-specific healthcare insurance employee benefits program for its 3,000-plus members and their staff. Dubbed NIVA Care, the program will leverage the collective power of NIVA’s diverse, nationwide membership to connect members with competitive health insurance options and employee benefits programs with potentially significant cost savings. 

NIVA Care will help provide full and part-time employees and 1099 contractors of independent venues, promoters and festivals access to affordable health insurance, as well as a wide variety of personalized employee benefit offerings, through payroll deductions — which were previously typical only of very large employers. 

Through the NIVA Care portal, members can now choose from individual and group health insurance options. For individuals, available plans include dental, vision, short-term medical plans, Medicare advantage and Medicare supplement plans, as well as accident, critical illness and life insurance plans. Individual insurance solutions are supported by concierge-level service from licensed experts, who will be on hand to assist members with the application process as well as Affordable Care Act plan subsidy eligibility review. 

Group health insurance solutions include traditional major medical plans, level-funded plans and unique plan designs that leverage new subsidies available to save employers and employees thousands of dollars on their health plans. NIVA Care also boasts exclusive health and welfare plans utilizing the national Blue Cross Blue Shield network. 

Also available is the NIVA Care Employee Benefits Program, which helps employers, employees and 1099 contractors replace their current, overpriced plans with a modern solution that unlocks the full value of Affordable Care Act subsidies enhanced this April by the American Rescue Plan. Benefits can be tailored not just for each employer, but also for every employee and 1099 contractor. Beyond health insurance, the Employee Benefits Program also offers solutions for student loan debt repayment, building up savings for emergency expenses, dependent care and other practical employee advantages.  

By implementing these programs, NIVA hopes that member organizations can become an attractive “employer of choice” in their local markets, according to a press release.
