Nick Murphy (formerly known as Chet Faker) has announced an extensive international tour in support of his recently announced second album, Run Fast Sleep Naked. Murphy will headline more than 40 shows across three continents throughout 2019.
Murphy’s 2019 dates will kick off in his homeland of Australia on April 26 and reach North America on May 29 with a show at the Metro in Chicago. From there, Murphy will hit Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Toronto, Boston, Brooklyn and more.
On Oct. 1, Murphy will expand the tour to Europe with a show in Lisbon, Portugal, before making his way to Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland. Before wrapping the trek Oct. 25 in Dublin, Ireland, Murphy will also reach The Netherlands, Belgium, France and the U.K.
Murphy has also debuted a live video for “Sanity,” the lead single from Run Fast Sleep Naked:
Out April 26, Run Fast Sleep Naked is Murphy’s first full length release since his widely praised 2014 debut, Built on Glass (released as Chet Faker) and was co-produced with Dave Harrington. Soulful lead single “Sanity” was written at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La studio in Southern California.
To make Run Fast Sleep Naked, Murphy spent four years traveling the world solo with a microphone in his suitcase, recording his vocal tracks in whichever spaces and environments most inspired him. Although Murphy captured his vocal performances in spaces across the globe — including his grandmother’s living room, a studio in Tokyo, a vacation rental he shared with his family in New Zealand and his own New York City apartment — the musical component to Run Fast Sleep Naked was mainly recorded at Figure 8 in Brooklyn.
Throughout the album, Murphy enlists 15 musicians and a full orchestra and is the latest in a series of widely acclaimed releases from the singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist, including Built on Glass — a platinum-selling effort that won him seven ARIA Music Awards including best male artist and producer of the year.
Tickets for Murphy’s Australia dates are on sale now. North American and European tour dates will go on sale Friday (March 15) at NickMurphy.com. Run Fast Sleep Naked can be preordered/pre-saved here and a full list of tour dates are below.
