NF flies from No. 73 to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Aug. 10) to become the top musical act in the U.S. for the first time, as the rapper’s fourth LP The Search arrives atop the Billboard 200 with 130,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music.

He also lands three tracks from the album on the Billboard Hot 100: “Time” re-enters at a new No. 67 peak, while “Leave Me Alone” debuts at No. 85 and the new set’s title track re-enters at No. 86.

NF is the third rapper to hit No. 1 on the Artist 100 in 2019, following Post Malone, for three weeks in January, and Tyler, The Creator, for a week in May. In all of last year, a whopping 12 rap acts (11 soloists, plus Migos) held the top spot. In 2017, five rap acts (four soloists and Migos) reigned.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Rounding out the Artist 100’s top five, Billie Eilish dips to No. 2 after five total weeks at No. 1, Ed Sheeran slips 2-3, Khalid drops 3-4 and Lizzo rises 7-5, reaching the top five for the first time.
