Neil Young, Norah Jones & Father John Misty Announced for Harvest Moon Benefit Concert

Three years after the popular Bridge School Benefit concert series came to a close, Neil Young is again raising money and awareness for children with serious medical conditions.
The Harvest Moon? daytime benefit concert will take place ?at the ?Painted Turtle? camp ab?out an hour north of Los Angeles on ?Sept. 14?, with performances by Father John Misty?, ?Norah Jones? and ?Young. Performances will be set against the backdrop of the Los Angeles National Forest, with fans siting on a grassy hillside just a stones throw from the picturesque Lake Hughes.
The 2019 concert is the first major benefit show in three yeras for Bridge School, which provides free education? to children with severe speech and physical impediments. From 1986–2016, Young held the Bridge School Benefit concert series at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, and more than 100 artists including Paul McCartney, Elton John and Metallica performed and helped raise money for the facility in Hillsborough, California.
Harvest Moon will also raise money for the Painted Turtle, a non-profit? providing children living with serious medical conditions a traditional camp experience, free of charge. Gates open at noon with the marimba ensemble ?Masanga? playing as attendees arrive, followed by musical performances that wind down at sundown.
“Shortly after the date for the event was selected and Young agreed to perform, organizers realized that Sept. 14 was the day of the night of the Harvest Moon, which enhances the specialness of the occasion,” a press release annoucing the event explains. “Included with each ticket is an ?all-star celebrity chef picnic? cooked and served by Southern California’s top chefs, and a ?beer and wine tasting? from select california breweries and wineries.”?
