It’s been a big year for Instagram. The fact that Taylor Swift nearly quadrupled her account’s following in 2015, gaining more than 39 million followers to make her the social network’s most popular account with 53.3 million followers as of Wednesday (Dec. 2), is a staggering testimony to the photo-sharing platform’s growth.

Of course, Swift isn’t the only performer to build a huge Instagram following, eager for updates of all kinds. Instagram’s reach across popular culture is further exemplified by the megastars who use it daily to express themselves and communicate with their fans by the millions, from Rihanna to Justin Bieber to Selena Gomez.

Followers: 30 million
Most popular post: Rihanna’s photo posing with her best friend in bikinis raked more than 1.1 million likes. Over the past year, Rihanna gained more than 16.9 million followers.

Followers: 31.7 million
Most popular post: J. Lo‘s Mother’s Day photo with her daughter and son earned her more than 845,000 likes. Over the past year, Lopez gained more than 22 million followers.
8. Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus)
Followers: 31.8 million
Most popular post: Miley Cyrus celebrated President’s Day with more than 797,000 likes. Over the past year, Cyrus gained more than 20 million followers.
7. Katy Perry (@katyperry)
Followers: 33.4 million
