According to TMZ, the rap trio — Quavo, Offset and Takeoff — got into a verbal fight with the singer before allegedly beating him up. Gunfire reportedly followed as a shooter said to be in Sean’s camp fired a shot in the air. No injuries were reported. Reps for Kingston and Migos did not immediately respond to Billboard‘s requests for comment.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the suspected shooter was 28-year-old Moises Johnson, who was taken into custody after the incident. He is believed to have fired at least one shot into the area and was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and discharging a firearm where persons may be endangered. Johnson is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center.
No mention of Kingston or Migos was made in the LVMPD’s report, though it does mention two separate groups were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical.
The annual Capsule fashion convention has been taking place at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, beginning Monday and ending Wednesday (Feb. 22).
Kingston has made headlines over the past few months, including a robbery last June during which he was attacked at a Los Angeles nightclub before his $300,000 chain was reportedly stolen. West Coast rapper The Game said the incident apparently sparked a beef between him and Meek Mill.
“I ain’t trying to be in media, no drama, no nothing,” Kingston said in an Instagram post. “Meek, that’s my dawg. We never had no conversations about nothing. When [the robbery] happened, I kept it moving. Me and [Meek] left the club as equal. It was nothing. At the end of the day, let’s dead this sh–.”
TMZ also obtained footage of Migos and Kingston being chummy at the Venetian earlier in the day before the incident.
