(The Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart measures radio airplay on a select group of full-time dance stations, along with plays during mix shows on nearly 80 top 40-formatted reporters.)
Previously, Meduza made it to No. 2 twice, with “Paradise,” with Dermot Kennedy (January 2021), and “Lose Control,” with Becky Hill and GOODBOYS (December 2019). The Italian production trio owns a fourth top 10, “Piece of Your Heart,” featuring GOODBOYS (No. 5, May 2019).
For Irish singer-songwriter Hozier, “Heart” marks his second Dance/Mix Show Airplay top 10, after “Take Me to Church” (No. 6, 2015). (“Church” scored success on dance radio helped by remixes; driven by its original version, it topped Adult Pop Airplay and Adult Alternative Airplay and reached No. 2 peaks on Pop Airplay and Alternative Airplay. On the Billboard Hot 100, the song hit No. 2.)
With a Tiesto remix released Jan. 21, the first day of the Feb. 5-dated chart’s tracking week (ending Jan. 27), “Heart” also bursts to a new high on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs, re-entering at No. 20 with 1.9 million U.S. streams, up 12%. On the multi-metric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart the track rebounds to its best rank yet (11-10).
‘RIGHT’ STUFF: Shifting back to the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, Shane Codd cruises 16-5 with “It Ain’t Right.” His third top 10 follows “Always on My Mind,” featuring Charlotte Haining (No. 1, one week, October 2021), and “Get Out My Head” (No. 2, March 2021).
SWEET 16: Alesso adds his 11th Dance/Mix Show Airplay top 10 and Katy Perry parades to her 16th as “When I’m Gone” bounds 27-10. Perry ties Kaskade for the fifth-most top 10s dating to the chart’s August 2003 inception; David Guetta leads with 31, followed by Rihanna (24), Calvin Harris (20) and Justin Bieber (19).
‘NIGHT’ MOVES: On the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, Years & Years start at No. 5 with Night Call. The act’s fourth top 10 bows with 3,500 equivalent album units (2,000 from album sales). Years & Years have notched two No. 1s: Palo Santo (2018) and Communion (2015).
On Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Years & Years up their count to 19 career entries as the “Night Call” title track debuts at No. 41.
LIZARD AND A ‘BUTTERFLY’: Further on Top Dance/Electronic Albums, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard debut at No. 6 with Butterfly 3001 (3,100 units). The remix album, with tracks retouched by Flaming Lips, Peaches and marks the act’s first appearance on the chart.
