Meduza Moves to No. 1 on Dance Club Songs Chart With ‘Piece of Your Heart’
Plus, moves for Lil Nas X, VASSY & Disco Fries & Avicii.

Recent Billboard Dance Chart Upstart spotlight act Meduza, the Italian production trio of Mattia Vitale, Luca De Gregorio and Simone Giani, tops Billboard‘s Dance Club Songs chart (dated May 25) with “Piece of Your Heart,” featuring fellow trio GOODBOYS (Josh Grimmett, Johannes Shore and Ethan Shore).
The first No. 1 for both acts was remixed by James Hype and Weiss, among others.
“Piece” has also pierced the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, reaching No. 5, and topped both the Mexico Ingles Airplay and U.K. Digital Song Sales charts.
‘OLD’ IS NEW TO NO. 1: Lil Nas X and featured singer Billy Ray Cyrus each earn their first Dance/Mix Show Airplay leader, soaring 8-1 with “Old Town Road.” The track, which rules the Billboard Hot 100 for a seventh week and concurrently takes over at No. 1 on both the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop and Rhythmic Songs airplay tallies, was remixed by Diplo.
Additionally on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, Australian singer VASSY posts her fourth top 10 and New York-based DJ duo Disco Fries (Nick Ditri and Danny Danger) sizzles to its first, with “Concrete Heart” (15-10). The collab, sporting remixes from Leo Blanco, Jay Mac and Charlie Lane, among others, also ascends 4-3 on Dance Club Songs.
AVICII DEBUTS: Avicii achieves his 10th Hot Dance/Electronic Songs top 10 with “Tough Love,” featuring Angus and Vargas & Lagola, as the track debuts at No. 9. Avicii, who died in April 2018, adds his 32nd entry, tying The Chainsmokers for the third-most since the chart’s January 2013 inception, after David Guetta (40) and Calvin Harris (37).
“Tough” totaled 3.7 million U.S. streams and sold 3,000 downloads in its initial tracking week, according to Nielsen Music, figures strong enough for entrances at No. 5 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales and No. 17 on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs.
The track marks Avicii’s second straight top 10 start on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs from his June 8 release TIM. “SOS,” featuring Aloe Blacc, debuted at No. 8 (April 20) and holds at its No. 6 high.
Atop Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Marshmello and Bastille tally a record-extending 35th week at No. 1 with “Happier.” The track pads its longevity title over runner-up “The Middle” by Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey (33 weeks at No. 1 in 2018).
