Shakira & Anuel’s ‘Me Gusta’ Team-Up Hits Top 10 on Hot Latin Songs Chart

After its Hot Latin Songs top 20 debut in the previous chart week, Shakira and Anuel AA’s “Me Gusta” rises 20-6 in its second frame on the Feb. 1-dated chart.

It’s the biggest jump to the top 10 for a collaborative title since May 2019 when “Soltera” by Lunay, Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny surged 41-3. In between, Bad Bunny’s “Vete” hiked 32 positions to the top (33-1; Dec. 17, 2019).

“Me Gusta” makes for Shakira’s 30th top 10 on Hot Latin Songs; a tie with Daddy Yankee for the third-most on the list. Luis Miguel and Enrique Iglesias continue at the lead and runner-up slots with 39 and 38 top 10s, respectively.

The track is Shakira’s best showing on Hot Latin Songs in over a year: her previous peak came through another collaboration, “Clandestino,” with Maluma (No. 7 peak) in Aug. 2018.

Shakira and Anuel’s first collaborative effort ascends mainly on the strength of streaming activity. It registered 3.9 million U.S. clicks (up 128%) in the week ending Jan. 23, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

The big push also yields a No. 10 debut on Latin Streaming Songs, Shakira’s best opening since “Me Enamoré” opened at No. 9 in June 2017.

Radio airplay, meanwhile, ignites a top 25 arrival on Latin Airplay after its first full tracking week, logging 4.38 million in audience impressions in the week ending Jan. 26, according to Nielsen Music/MRC.

N’Klabe’s Top 10 Comeback: It’s been over three years since N’Klabe last nabbed a top 10 on the Tropical Airplay chart. Its Jan. 3-released “Pa’lante y Pa’tras,” with La Tribu de Abrante, marks the Puerto Rican’s trio’s return to the list’s top tier as the song climbs 11-8.

The move secures N’Klabe’s 15th top 10, while the 12-member orchestra of La Tribu de Abrante earns its second.

“Pa’lante’ ascends despite a 6% dip in audience (down to 2 million), logged in the week ending Jan. 26.

2016 marked N’Klabe last top 10 visit, when the trio hit No. 1 with "Amor de Verdad.” The trio’s coronation arrived through its featured role on Charlie Cruz’ one-week ruler, which also featured Frankie Negrón NG2 and Omar Lugo.
