Matthew West Scores Sixth Hot Christian Songs No. 1 With ‘Me on Your Mind’

Plus, Zach Williams and Blanca & Dante Bowe hit the top 10.

Matthew West‘s “Me on Your Mind” ascends to No. 1 on Billboard‘s streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Hot Christian Songs survey, dated Aug. 13. The track awards West his sixth leader and first since “Hello, My Name Is” started a 17-week reign in June 2013.

The 45-year-old, Nashville-based singer-songwriter scored his first Hot Christian Songs No. 1 with “More,” which ruled for four frames beginning in March 2004. He has also led with “You Are Everything” (eight, beginning March 2008); “The Motions” (14, April 2009); and “Give This Christmas Away” (one, 2009-10 holiday season).

West’s latest reaches the Hot Christian Songs penthouse with 9.2 million radio airplay audience impressions, according to Luminate. It topped Christian Airplay the previous two weeks, having become his 12th leader on the list. The song also drew 909,000 U.S. streams in the tracking week.

“I’m so thankful for the chance to make music I believe in,” West told Billboard upon the song’s Christian Airplay coronation.

As West rings up his sixth Hot Christian Songs leader, he ties for the most among soloists since the chart launched in June 2003, matching the hauls of Jeremy Camp, tobyMac and Chris Tomlin. Among all artists, those acts, and group Third Day, also with six, trail only MercyMe, with 13, and Casting Crowns, with nine. (Next up, Lauren Daigle paces all women with five No. 1s.)

Williams, Blanca & Dante Bowe Add Top 10s

Zach Williams notches his highest Hot Christian Songs debut as “Heart of God” rockets in at No. 9, becoming his seventh top 10 and first to launch in the tier.

Released July 29, the song, which Williams co-wrote, sold 1,000 downloads in the week ending Aug. 4 and arrives atop Christian Digital Song Sales, becoming his fourth No. 1. It also drew 1.8 million streams and enters Christian Streaming Songs at No. 8, where it’s Williams’ fourth top 10 and likewise his first start in the region. On Christian Airplay, the song ranks at No. 34 with 838,000 impressions.

Williams boasts two Hot Christian Songs No. 1s: his debut hit “Chain Breaker,” which dominated for nine weeks beginning in November 2016, and “Old Church Choir” (one week, November 2017).

Also on Hot Christian Songs, Blanca and Dante Bowe’s “The Healing” pushes 12-10. It holds at its No. 10 high on Christian Airplay (5.1 million, up 1%) and drew 866,000 streams.

Blanca (last name Callahan) earns her second Hot Christian Songs top 10, among 10 appearances. In her first visit, “Press On” reached No. 7 in 2014.

Bowe, a member of Maverick City Music, likewise posts his second solo Hot Christian Songs top 10, following his featured turn, with Chandler Moore, on Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music’s “Wait on You” (No. 9, May 2021).
