Mariah Carey Has a Lot of No. 1s, But This One Has Her ‘Stunned, Humbled & Grateful’
Mariah Carey thanked her Lambily for running out to buy her The Meaning of Mariah Carey memoir, which debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times best seller list.

Mariah Carey is used to scoring No. 1s and recording some of the most beloved hits of the past 30 years. After all, she’s racked up 19 Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers, the most of any solo artist in history. But her latest one has her shook. “Wow. Stunned, humbled & grateful. Writing this memoir nearly consumed my life for the last three years,” she wrote on Wednesday night (Oct. 7) when she got word that her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, had hit No. 1 on the New York Times best seller list for hard cover books.
“U MAD. to everyone who has taken the time to read my story & make this dream a reality. It almost makes it tolerable to have lived through these experiences! LOL,” she continued. The book, which details Carey’s romantic travails, her career ups and downs, the racism she experienced as a bi-racial child and much more, hit stores last week.
