The all-star tribute compilation to Marco Antonio Solis, Todos Somos Más (We Are All More in English), arrives at No. 4 on the Latin Pop Albums chart dated May 19. According to Nielsen Music, the set opens with 2,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 10. Driven mostly by traditional album sales, the compilation arrives at No. 1 on the Latin Album Sales tally.
On Latin Pop Albums, Todos is the highest charting compilation in more than a year, since Puerto Rican Banco Popular’s annual Christmastime offering of De Puerto Rico Para El Mundo spent three weeks at No. 1 in Dec. 2016 and January 2017.
Todos — released by Fonosvisa/ UMLE on May 4 and produced by Emmaunel del Real ‘Meme’ (Café Tacvba) — celebrates Solis’ 48-year music career. The 17-song set features Latin acts Juanes, Julieta Venegas, Juan Luis Guerra, Luis Fonsi, Los Enanitos Verdes, Jesse & Joy, Mon Lafterte and more covering Solis’ tunes.
Concurrently, the album debuts at No. 4 on the Compilation Albums chart — the highest charting, and highest debuting, Latin compilation in nearly 10 years. Idolos: De Mexico Para El Mundo debuted and peaked at No. 4 on the Oct. 11, 2008 list. That compilation also featured Marco Antonio Solis with “No Puedo Olvidarla,” which hit No. 5 on Hot Latin Songs.
Elsewhere, Todos opens at No. 11 on the Top Latin Albums chart.
