Marc Anthony scores his 11th top 10 on the Top Latin Albums chart (dated May 25), as Opus starts at No. 2.

Marc Anthony scores his 11th top 10 on the Top Latin Albums chart (dated May 25), as Opus starts at No. 2.
The set, his 13th studio effort, opens with 9,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending May 16, according to Nielsen Music — the fifth-largest debut for a Latin album released in 2019.
Of that starting sum, 6,000 were in album sales — the third-biggest sales week for a Latin album in 2019, following the opening frames of Luis Fonsi’s Vida (16,000; Feb. 16) and Romeo Santos’ Utopia (9,000; April 20).
Opus, released May 10 via Sony Music Latin and produced by Sergio George, also starts at No. 1 on the Latin Album Sales and Tropical Albums charts.
As Opus lands at No. 2 on Top Latin Albums, Marc Anthony logs his highest debut since June 2010 when Iconos opened at No. 1.
“Working on Opus was one of the most gratifying creative experiences of my career,” Marc Anthony tells Billboard. “I am thrilled and beyond grateful with everyone who was part of the conception of this production and for the support which we are receiving from fans from all over the world”.
Notably, with Opus’ arrival, Marc Anthony now places two albums on the Top Latin Albums chart, the second being his former No. 1 3.0 (at No. 47), which debuted on the Aug. 2, 2013-dated list. The album hits a landmark 250th week on the tally –extending its record as the title with the most weeks on the list.
Concurrently, Opus bows at No. 1 on the Tropical Albums chart, marking the entertainer’s ninth leader on the tally. It’s his highest debut since July 2006 when Sigo Siendo Yo arrived at No. 1.
Opus has yielded two songs on the Tropical Songs airplay chart: “Tu Vida En La Mía,” the set’s first single which peaked at No. 1 on the March 23-dated tally and “Parecen Viernes,” placing at No. 4 on the current chart.
