Reports from the first leg of Marc Anthony’s Legacy Tour land him at No. 2 on the Hot Tours recap (see below) dated Nov. 24, 2018, with $5.5 million, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. In all, The Legacy Tour has grossed $8 million and sold 67,149 tickets.
The seven shows that have played so far were promoted by Cardenas Marketing Network. Anthony started on a high note, grossing $576,000 at Boston’s Agganis Arena on Oct. 25 and grew from there, reaching a peak with $3.4 million at Miami’s American Airlines Arena on Nov. 16-17.
The beginning of The Legacy Tour brings Anthony’s career total grosses, as reported to Billboard Boxscore, to $211.3 million. With these figures, he passes Santana ($206.6 million) to become the second-highest grossing Latin artist since Boxscore began tracking touring data in 1990. The only Latin artist who has out-grossed Anthony is Luis Miguel, with a towering total of $278.5 million.
Anthony’s career figure combines the $185 million he has grossed on solo headline tours with his cut of five co-headline tours.
The Legacy Tour will continue to play across the U.S. through a scheduled date at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y. on Feb. 23, 2019. Further down the list at No. 8 is one of Anthony’s former touring partners, Alejandro Fernandez. Powered by the $972,000 gross at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., Fernandez’s own career total bumps to $119.9 million.
