Maná’s Cama Incendiada Tour On Sale April 10

Mexican rockers Maná, the top-selling and top-touring Latin rock band in the world, have announced their new summer arena tour.

Mexican rockers Maná, the top-selling and top-touring Latin rock band in the world, have announced their new summer arena tour. The Cama Incendiada (Burning Bed) tour, sponsored by Montejo beer, kicks off June 10 in San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center Arena and will travel to 14 cities, finishing at Laredo’s Laredo Energy Arena July 11. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 10.

The tour takes its name from Cama Incendiada, Maná’s upcoming studio album, set for release April 21 on Warner Music Latina. The album will be available for pre-order on iTunes beginning today (April 7).

Like previous Maná tours, Cama Incendiada will draw closely from its reference album.

“In our concerts, we like the kids to get up and really enjoy it,” says lead singer Fher Olvera. “That drives the creative process. When we make our albums, more than considering that radio or the label will think, we concentrate on what the fans will experience.”

In this case, fans will experience many layers of up-tempo, rock-driven fare.

“It’s an album that seduces you to dance,” says guitarist Sergio Vallín. “The context of the lyrics is very sensual, very daring, but very classy. And we wanted to go back to the dives, to that gritty Maná of the streets.”

Cama Incendiada will be the first Maná album where the group — made up of Olvera, Vallín, drummer Alex Gonzalez and bassist Juan Calleros — shares production credits with someone outside the band, in this case, producer George Noriega. The album also marks the first time the group collaborates with a woman — pal Shakira — who sings with Olvera on the single “Mi Verad,” which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and remains on the charts’ top 10.

Maná’s last U.S. tour (2011-2012) was a totally sold-out affair that had them play over 30 dates, including seven sold-out stops at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, a record for the venue.

Of 21 shows reported to Boxscore, including five in Latin America, Maná registered attendance of 240,678 and gross ticket sales of $17.5 million.
