As “Hawái” lands atop the Latin Airplay chart (dated Oct. 3), Maluma collects his 18th No. 1 and breaks away from a tie with Ricky Martin for the fifth-most leaders on the survey which launched in 1994.
“Hawái” moves 2-1 with a 13% increase in audience impressions, to 12.2 million, earned in the week ending Sept. 27, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
The song, which is in its fourth week at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs (which ranks songs based on a blend of airplay, sales and streaming data), concurrently lands at No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay, where Maluma nabs his 16th leader.
“Hawái” is just the second song to rule all three surveys in 2020. It joins Karol G and Nicki Minaj’s “Tusa,” which took possession of the crown across Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay charts on the Feb. 2 survey.
“Hawái” follows the one-week ruler “ADMV” (July 11-dated list), which ranks at No. 16 on the current chart. Both titles stem from Papi Juancho, Maluma’s fifth studio album which debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Top Latin Albums chart (dated Sept. 6) and earned him his third top 40 entry on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.
“Hawái” was written by Maluma alongside Keityn, Edgar Barrera and Bull Nene and produced by Rude Boyz.
Over on the overall all-genre Billboard Hot 100 list, “Hawái” returns to its No. 55 peak, where it previously landed on the Sept. 19 tally.
