Colombian urban artist Maluma scores his first top 10 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, as “Borro Cassette” hops 11-8 in its 10th charting week (dated Oct. 10).

The 21-year-old takes Airplay Gainer honors with a 30 percent climb in audience, logging 9.8 million impressions during the tracking week ending Sept. 27 (according to Nielsen Music). The on-air bump drives the track 8-4 on the Latin Airplay chart, reaching a new peak.

Digital sales also aid in the Hot Latin Songs jump, increasing four percent (to 1,000 downloads).

“Ginza” Grows: Elsewhere on Hot Latin Songs, J Balvin’s “Ginza” continues at No. 2 (for a fifth straight week) narrowly missing the No. 1 spot. The track earns the week’s Streaming Gainer honor, collecting 1.9 million U.S. streams during the tracking week ending Sept. 24, Balvin’s best streaming week to date.

The song remains at No. 2 on Latin Streaming Songs, where only seven other songs have posted larger streaming weeks since the chart began in April 2013.

“Ginza” also takes the Digital Gainer trophy, growing 25 percent to over 6,000 downloads — its best sales week since its first week on the chart (8,000 downloads, dated Aug. 8).

Jesse & Joy Arrive: Mexican brother-sister duo Jesse & Joy enter Hot Latin Songs, with the week’s highest debut, as “Ecos de Amor” bows at No. 41. The entrance marks the first female-led song to appear on the chart in 22 weeks (Joy provides vocals on the track).

The arrival is driven, in part, by a 17 percent increase at radio, also debuting at No. 49 on Latin Airplay (2.8 million audience impressions).

“Ecos” is the pair’s 11th Hot Latin Songs hit, dating back to 2008 when “Espacio Sideral” peaked at No. 35. Their best showing, however, came in  2012 when “Corre!” reached No. 4.
