Maggie Rogers scores her first No. 1 album on a Billboard chart, as Heard It in a Past Life debuts atop the Alternative Albums and Top Album Sales surveys, among others, dated Feb. 2.

The singer-songwriter’s debut major-label LP, released on Debay Sounds/Capitol, starts at No. 1 on Alternative Albums with 49,000 equivalent album units earned, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 37,000 are via traditional album sales, which sparks the set’s start at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart.

On the all-format Billboard 200, Life slots in at No. 2, marking Rogers’ first entry on the survey. It’s the highest-charting album on the Billboard 200 by a solo woman in four months, following the No. 1 debut of Carrie Underwood‘s Cry Pretty (Sept. 29, 2018), and the top premiere for any artist’s major-label debut since Cardi B‘s Invasion of Privacy (No. 1, April 21, 2018).

The set was ushered in by lead single “Light On,” which topped the Adult Alternative Songs airplay chart for three weeks (beginning Jan. 12), marking Rogers’ first No. 1 song on a Billboard ranking.
