Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ ‘Thrift Shop’ Video Passes 1 Billion YouTube Views

The video for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis‘ breakout single “Thrift Shop” has now hit 1 billion views on YouTube, making it the 40th most viewed video of all time. 

Macklemore announced the news on Wednesday (Dec. 7) with an Instagram post thanking everyone who contributed to the truly awesome video. 

“It started with an idea, a $5,000 budget and a community of folks that lent us there stores, clothes, cars, time, energy & love,” he wrote. “It now has a billion plays. 1,000,000,000. Who could have ever imagined…. thank you all.”
