Lorde‘s not getting any love from San Francisco right now. As the city’s Giants head into the World Series against the Kansas City Royals, the singer’s hit “Royals” has been blacklisted from local radio. 

MLB Playoffs: All the Intro Songs Revealed

Stations KFOG and KOIT have both announced they will not play the song for the duration of the 2014 World Series, which starts Tuesday and will last about a week.

“Why send any positive vibes to Kansas City?” KFOG’s program director Jim Richards told NBC Bay Area. “Why not give the song a rest? No one is going to get hurt over it.”

Richards said the powers that be decided to remove the song from KFOG’s rotation “as the [Giants] players were chugging beers” Thursday night, following their win against the St. Louis Cardinals to win the Major League Baseball National League pennant.

Who knows what kind of baseball fan the 17-year-old New Zealand-born Lorde is, but she has at least somewhat sided with the Royals in her success. Earlier this year she was glad to receive a George Brett jersey from the team after revealing a photograph of the team’s Hall of Fame third baseman signing autographs was at least a partial inspiration for her song.
