LOONA Earn Best U.S. Sales Week to Date With Third Album Release

Loona is #Winning with their latest release.

The 12-member girl group's new EP, titled [#], debuts at No. 4 on Billboard's World Albums chart, tying their highest position on the tally to date, while earning 3,000 units in the week ending Feb. 6, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Of that sum, 2,000 units comes from album sales to mark their best sales sales week in America, and surpassing their previous best sum with their [X X] album released last year that also peaked at No. 4 on World Albums.

With three releases under their belts as a group, LOONA's U.S. sales have consistently grown with each album's first-week sales. The group started with 1,000 sales for their 2017 debut EP, titled [+ +], and grew to 2,000 copies sold for their second album release, with [X X], last year, with this week's sales of [#] surpassing their previous best.

LOONA also start at No. 19 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, their third entry on a ranking that sees far fewer appearances from K-pop acts.

The strong start was anticipated for the rising girl group after buzz single "365" went straight to No. 1 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart in December. "365" is included on [#] as is the official lead single "So What" that debuted at No. 4 on World Digital Song Sales this week. This is now LOONA's fifth group entry and third Top 5 single on World Digital Songs. Several LOONA members, including Haseul and Olivia Hye, and their splinter groups, like LOONA Odd Eye Circle featuring Kim Lip, Choerry and Jinsoul, have also sent their own solo or unit songs to the chart.

Even with a bit of a concept switch-up to an aggressive and strong image with a single like "So What," as opposed to the tender sides shown in past singles like "Butterfly" and "Hi High," the results continue LOONA's upward trajectory on the charts. Check out the music video to "So What," which just hit more than 15 million views on YouTube, and a live performance of the [#] album intro and "So What" live on Korean music program M Countdown:
