Lodato and Bright Sparks hit No. 1 on Billboard‘s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart (dated March 13) with “Good Thing.” It’s Queens, New York, native Lodato’s second topper, following “Home” in November 2019, and the first for Bright Sparks, the English duo of Ash Hicklin and Kimmy Sawford.

“Good Thing” is scoring core-dance airplay from outlets including at leaders SiriusXM’s BPM, KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco and WCPY Chicago, according to MRC Data. (The Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart measures radio airplay on a select group of full-time dance stations, along with plays during mix shows on nearly 80 top 40-formatted reporters.)

Lodato (full name Salvatore Lodato) tells Billboard, “Back in 2017 when Tiësto came out with his track ‘On My Way,’ featuring Bright Sparks, I did a bootleg remix to it that Tiësto found, and actually played on his radio show. Since then, I’ve always wanted to have an original with Bright Sparks. Last year, my manager Jared Overeem reached out to them without me knowing and surprised me with the collaboration, and I’d like to think the result was a … ‘Good Thing.'”

Tiësto’s “On My Way” rose to No. 10 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay in March 2017, marking Bright Sparks’ only other chart entry thus far (and one of Tiësto’s lucky 13 top 10s).

Additionally on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, ILLENIUM collects his third top 10, and Dabin and Lights each earn their first, as “Hearts on Fire” ignites 20-10. ILLENIUM’s last two entries became his first two No. 1s: “Nightlight” (November 2020) and “Takeaway,” with The Chainsmokers and featuring Lennon Stella (November 2019).

Shifting to Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Joel Corry, RAYE and David Guetta’s “Bed” is the chart’s highest debut at No. 15. Corry’s fourth charted title and RAYE’s 10th, “Bed” is Guetta’s 51st, a sum second only to Kygo’s 52 for the most since the survey began in January 2013. “Bed” posted 1.5 million U.S. streams and sold 500 downloads in the tracking week ending March 4.

The song also starts at No. 29 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay. It follows Corry’s nine-week reign with his MNEK collab “Head & Heart” last summer/fall and Guetta’s single-week stint at the summit with his Sia team-up “Let’s Love” in November.
