Live Nation has appointed Kelly Flanigan as president of Washington DC within the company’s U.S. concerts division. Flanigan will oversee booking, marketing, and business operations for Live Nation across the region, including Maryland and Virginia.
The company also announced that veteran promoter Wilson Howard has been promoted to chief operating officer of Washington DC / Carolinas within the company’s U.S. concerts division. Both will report to Bob Roux, Live Nation president of U.S. Concerts.
“Kelly has been key to Live Nation’s success in DC since joining the company over a decade ago, and her promotion to president of the DC region is very well-deserved,” says Bob Roux in a statement to Billboard. “By elevating Kelly and Wilson, we’re confident that Live Nation will continue to expand our business and our annual concerts throughout the region.”
Flanigan joined Live Nation in 2006 as a talent buyer and has helped double her territory’s show count over the past four years and provided key support for new projects including the Theater at MGM National Harbor and MECU Pavilion and was also instrumental in helping Live Nation Urban and Broccoli City Festival triple its attendance in 2018.
Howard has been with Live Nation and the company’s predecessors for more than four decades. Wilson held senior roles with Beach Club Promotions and Cellar Door Concerts before heading Live Nation’s business in the mid-Atlantic region starting in 2006. Howard has been one of the country’s most respected promoters and was instrumental in the opening and success of an assortment of Live Nation venues including Coastal Credit Union Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh, North Carolina, Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa and many more.
