Rapper Lil Tecca, age 16, scores his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, as "Ran$om" debuts at No. 93 on the chart dated June 15.
The track opens with 9.8 million U.S. streams, up 21%, in the week ending June 6, according to Nielsen Music, with the sum driving the majority of its chart points. It also sold 1,000 copies in the tracking week, a 29% increase week-over-week.
The official video for "Ran$om," released May 22, was directed by Cole Bennett. The Queens, New York-based rapper (real name: Tyler Sharpe) last year emerged on SoundCloud, where he boasts nearly 75,000 followers.
"Ran$om" concurrently debuts at No. 38 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
