With ‘Detox,’ Lil Baby Passes The Weeknd in Top 10 Streaming Race

The rapper's new single previews his forthcoming album, 'It's Only Me,' coming Oct. 14.

Lil Baby captures his 26th top 10 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as “Detox” debuts at No. 8 on the list dated Sept. 17. The track, released Sept. 2, previews his forthcoming studio album, It’s Only Me, coming Oct. 14.

Even though Lil Baby has not released an album in 2022, “Detox” secures his eighth top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs this year. Here’s a rundown of his top 10 roster for 2022:

“25K Jacket,” Gunna featuring Lil Baby, No. 9, Jan. 22, 2022
“Do We Have a Problem?,” with Nicki Minaj, No. 1 (one week), Feb. 19, 2022

“Detox” traces its strong start largely to 13.5 million official U.S. on-demand streams in the week ending Sept. 8, according to Luminate. The sum yields a No. 4 start on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart and a No. 8 arrival on the all-genre Streaming Songs chart.

Thanks to the No. 8 entrance on the latter, Lil Baby collects his 27th top 10 hit on Streaming Songs, breaking out of a tie with The Weeknd for the second-most top 10s on the list since it launched in 2013. The rapper now trails only Drake, who has sent 73 tracks to the top tier. As the leaderboard shuffles, let’s update the current standings.
