Life Is Beautiful festival has announced Billie Eilish, Green Day and Tame Impala to headline its 2021 edition. The Las Vegas festival is one of the first to reveal its lineup for a major event in 2021.

On March 2, the three-day music festival announced plans to return in September after the pandemic canceled the 2020 edition.
“It’s a good day when you get to announce that LIVE is back,” Justin Weniger, Life Is Beautiful partner, said in a statement. “In the darkest days of 2020 when everything else stopped, the Life Is Beautiful community kept us moving forward. We’re eagerly awaiting a return to the festival grounds where we will reunite our community and celebrate the role of art and music in providing us hope when we need it the most.”
The festival is set to once again take over 18 city blocks from Sept. 17–19 with 170,000 attendees over the course of the three-day event. Previous performers have included Chance the Rapper, Kanye West, Foo Fighters and more.
Over the past year, the live music industry has faced a series of cancellations and postponements for festivals and concerts but a string of recent announcements seem to be placing faith in a return to live events this fall.
On Feb. 24, Cárdenas Marketing Network (CMN) announced Maluma’s 30-date arena tour slated to kick off on Sept. 1 in San Jose, California. CEO of CMN Henry Cárdenas told Billboard last week that they have had many conversations with all the arenas Maluma plans to hit and “They agreed that between now and September, things will have returned to normal.” Cárdenas added that there are contingency plans — such as limiting capacity — if the pandemic worsens later in the year.
In January, New York’s Governors Ball announced it would be moving its 2021 edition to Sept. 24-26. The Randall’s Island festival typically takes place in June. “We’ve decided to move the 2021 show to a time of year that is both more realistic and safer for all,” said festival producer Founders Entertainment in a release.
“While there is still uncertainty in the world, we are watching problems evolve into possibilities and are beginning to see all the right signs,” added Life Is Beautiful’s Weniger. “Much like most of our audience, we’re excited to reacquaint ourselves with a world where discovery and serendipity are once again the norm. We’re ready to hear those three magical words echo from the stage, ‘Are you ready?’ Most importantly, we’re ready to feel the power and connection that comes with Live experiences.”
