WME today announced that Leyla Kumble has returned to the company as an agent in the music for visual media department, which represents world class composers and music supervisors including Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Ludwig Göransson, Max Richter and Randy Newman.
Headed by Bradley Rainey, WME’s music for visual media department had three of the five nominations in the Best Original Score category at both this year’s Golden Globes and Academy Awards. Reznor & Ross took home wins at both shows for their work on Soul. In 2020, the department took home three Emmy Awards and two Ivor Novello Awards.
“Leyla’s ability to nurture the careers of a broad array of artists is second only to her ability to source the perfect material to match those artists with,” says Bradley Rainey, head of music for visual media, WME. “We are excited to welcome her to the team as the soundtrack business evolves rapidly.”
Kumble began her career at WME working with composers and music supervisors, then went on to work in the Sync Licensing department at Warner Chappell and in music supervision at Endemol Shine North America.
Kumble comes to the agency now from Familiar Music Group, with five years of publishing and artist crossover experience.
In her new role, Kumble will focus on supporting and expanding the roster of composers and music supervisors that the music for visual media department represents, and identifying new PA crossover opportunities for our touring artists in the film & television space.
Kumble also runs a nonprofit called Girls are Loud, where she puts together all-female teams for artists to record singles live, shoot music videos and put on shows, for which she produces and creative directs.
