Capaldi is still outselling the rest of the artist top five, having started last week by outdoing the remainder of the Official Charts Company’s top ten. When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (Interscope/Universal) climbs back 5-2 for Billie Eilish, while the soundtrack of The Greatest Showman (Atlantic/Warner) rebounds yet again, moving 7-3 in its 75th chart week. Last week’s ranking marked its first time outside the top five since January 2018.
Morrissey lands his 14th U.K. top ten album as a solo artist, as California Son (BMG) starts at No. 4. His last release, late 2017’s Low In High School, started at No. 5. A week after the musical fantasy Rocketman hit British cinemas, its Mercury/UMC soundtrack arrives at No. 5, while his Diamonds compilation races back 15-6. It debuted at its peak position to date No. 5 in November 2017.
There’s a new entry at No. 9 for the Amazons’ Future Dust (Fiction/Polydor/Universal), their second top ten album after their self-titled debut opened at No. 8 two years ago. Now That’s What I Call Music 102 (Sony Music CG/Virgin EMI) begins a seventh week at the compilation chart summit.
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber move into a third week at No. 1 on the singles survey with “I Don’t Care” (Asylum/Warner Music).
Sheeran and Bieber’s single records 83,000 combined units for the week, only 1,300 ahead of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” (Lil Nas X/Sony). “I Don’t Care” moves past 300,000 combined units in its three-week life; Lil Nas X has the most streams of the week, at 10.9 million.
Capaldi holds at No. 3 with “Someone You Loved” and Stormzy‘s “Vossi Bop” (Merky) is steady at No. 4. Eilish is up 6-5 with “Bad Guy” and there’s a No. 9 start for Sheeran’s “Cross Me,” featuring Chance The Rapper and PnB Rock, marking Sheeran’s 23rd U.K. top ten hit.
