“The song, released on Broken Bow Records, rises from No. 2 in its 39th week on the chart, up 9% to 29 million audience impressions in the week ending Sept. 19, according to MRC Data.
Wilson co-wrote the single with Jason Nix and Jonathan Singleton.
Wilson earns the first Country Airplay leader by an act in its first appearance since Niko Moon’s “Good Time” topped the March 13 chart. She’s the first woman to lead the list with a freshman entry since Gabby Barrett’s “I Hope” ruled the April 25, 2020, survey.
“I’m honored. I’m humbled. I’m thankful for every small and big step that’s gotten me to this point, as well as my incredible supportive team,” Wilson tells Billboard. “I know the hard work is just beginning. Time to roll up my sleeves.”
“Man” is from Wilson’s first Broken Bow LP, Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’, which bullets at No. 9 on Heatseekers Albums and rises 46-44 on Top Country Albums with 5,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Sept. 16.
“Man” marks the 24th Country Airplay leader of 2021 and the second by a solo female, after Barrett’s “The Good Ones” reigned for three frames beginning April 17.
On Hot Country Songs, which blends airplay, sales and streaming data, “Man” pushes 4-3. It drew 6.6 million U.S. streams and sold 2,000 in the tracking week.
NEW TOP 10s Jordan Davis’ “Buy Dirt,” featuring Luke Bryan, jumps 12-8 on Hot Country Songs, with 8.2 million streams (up 19%) and 4,700 sold. On Country Airplay, it rises 31-28 (6.8 million, up 16%). Davis earns his fifth Hot Country Songs top 10 and Bryan adds his 33rd.
Plus, Old Dominion earns its ninth Country Airplay top 10 as “I Was on a Boat That Day” rises 11-10 (15.9 million, up 1%).
