Lady Gaga’s ‘Stupid Love’ Is Challenging for U.K. Chart Title

Lady Gaga’s "Stupid Love" is just behind The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” in the race to the U.K. singles chart title.

British music fans are gaga about “Stupid Love”.

Lady Gaga’s new single is just behind The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” in the race to the U.K. chart title.

Gaga’s “Stupid Love,” the first track lifted from her forthcoming sixth studio album, is at No. 2 on the Official Chart: First Look.

Gaga’s first solo track in three years, “Stupid Love” is just 1,200 chart sales behind “Blinding Lights” after two days of sales and streams data, the OCC reports.

At the early stage in the chart cycle, “Stupid Love” has the advantage on downloads, with “Blinding Lights” leading on streams.

Gaga has already notched up twelve career top 10 singles in the U.K., including five No. 1s.

“We are definitely dancing,” Gaga says of the new album, in an interview with Zane Lowe for his New Music Daily on Apple Music. There’s no confirmation yet on the name (rumored to be called Chromatica) or release date for Gaga’s next LP, the followup to 2016’s chart-leader Joanne.

The Official U.K. Singles and Albums Charts are published late Friday, local time.
