Lady Gaga jumps 13-1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated June 13) to become the top musical act in the country for a fifth total week, and for the first time since October 2018, thanks to her new album Chromatica.
The album debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 274,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, earning Gaga her sixth No. 1.
Gaga first topped the Artist 100 in November 2016 when her album Joanne opened atop the Billboard 200. She led again for a week in February 2017 (following her Super Bowl halftime show performance that year) and added two more weeks on top in October 2018 as her A Star Is Born soundtrack, with Bradley Cooper, ruled the Billboard 200.
The Artist 100, which launched in 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
Plus, Jimmy Buffett enters the Artist 100 at No. 2 as his new set Life on the Flip Side launches at No. 1 on Top Country Albums and No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and Run the Jewels return to the Artist 100 at a new No. 10 high, as the act’s RTJ4 likewise bows at No. 10 on the Billboard 200.
