Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper Lead Dance Club Songs Chart Thanks to ‘Shallow’ Remixes

Plus, Clean Bandit debuts and Benny Blanco & Calvin Harris go top 10.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper claim the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s Dance Club Songs chart (dated Dec. 15) with “Shallow” (2-1). Originally a ballad, from the A Star Is Born soundtrack, the song was remixed by DJ Aron, Nesco and Lodato, among many others.

“Shallow” is Gaga’s 15th Dance Club Songs topper (and Cooper’s first), ranking her in 10th place among acts with the most No. 1s since the chart’s August 1976 inception; Madonna leads with 46.

Clean Bandit scores its first No. 1 on Top Dance/Electronic Albums, debuting with What Is Love? (8,000 equivalent album units earned, according to Nielsen Music). With 2,000 in traditional album sales, Love? launches at No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic Album Sales chart. The act’s breakthrough 2014 effort, New Eyes, reached No. 3 on Top Dance/Electronic Albums.

Since its 2014 debut and sole Hot Dance/Electronic Songs No. 1, “Rather Be,” featuring Jess Glynne, Clean Bandit has amassed 10 hits on the tally, including five top 10s. Its latest, “Mama,” featuring Ellie Goulding, starts at No. 28, boasting 875,000 U.S. streams and sales of 3,000 downloads.

Plus, Benny Blanco and Calvin Harris hike 12-8 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay with “I Found You.” It’s Harris’ 18th top 10, third among all acts since the chart’s August 2003 inception; only David Guetta and Rihanna have more (24 each). “Found” is the first top 10 on the chart for Blanco.
