Kygo & X Ambassadors Debut on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart With ‘Undeniable’

Kygo commands a No. 8 debut on Billboard‘s multimetric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart (dated Oct. 30) with “Undeniable,” featuring X Ambassadors. The song earned 2 million U.S. streams in its first week, ending Oct. 21, according to MRC Data.

It’s the Norwegian DJ/producer’s 21st top 10, extending his lead for the most among all acts; The Chainsmokers and Calvin Harris follow with 19 each. “Undeniable” also serves as Kygo’s 54th total chart appearance, second only to David Guetta’s leading 58.

X Ambassadors earn their first Hot Dance/Electronic Songs top 10. Previously, the pop-rock act teamed with ILLENIUM on “In Your Arms” (No. 15, February 2020) and was featured (with Logic) on Zedd’s “Transmission” (No. 41, 2015). (Their “Renegades” topped Hot Rock & Alternative Songs for two weeks in 2015, marking one of their five top 10s on the tally.)

Concurrently, “Undeniable” arrives on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales (No. 12) and Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs (No. 19).

Speaking of ILLENIUM, he also teamed with a rock act, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and enters Hot Dance/Electronic Songs at No. 14 with “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.” The track collected 1.3 million domestic streams in the tracking week. ILLENIUM’s 38th appearance and Thirty Seconds to Mars’ second and highest-charting (following “Do or Die,” with Afrojack; No. 33, 2014), “Change” is from the Oct. 22-released deluxe version of ILLENIUM’s Fallen Embers album.

Meanwhile, on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, Elton John and Dua Lipa jump to the top with “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix).” John’s first No. 1 on the chart (which began in 2003), the coronation comes a week after the collab crowned Hot Dance/Electronic Songs. For Lipa, “Heart” is her fourth Dance/Mix Show Airplay leader, after “New Rules” (four weeks at No. 1, 2018); “One Kiss,” with Calvin Harris” (10, 2018); and “Don’t Start Now” (16, 2019-’20).

“Heart” hails core-dance airplay at leaders MusicChoice’s Dance/EDM Channel, KNHC (C89.5) Seattle and WZFL (Revolution 93.5) Miami. The team-up also tops Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for a second week and bounces 25-21 on the Billboard Hot 100, with 24.5 million all-format airplay impressions (up 17%), 9 million streams (up 12%) and 12,400 sold (up 22%).

Additionally on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, Dillon Francis flies to the top 10 with “Reaching Out,” featuring Bow Anderson (11-8). It’s Francis’ fourth top 10 and Anderson’s first. Similarly, Lil Nas X notches his fourth top and Jack Harlow notches his first with last week’s Hot 100 No. 1, “Industry Baby” (14-10).
