Country music superstar Kenny Chesney caught up with Good Morning America this week to discuss his endorsement of Apple Music, saying “the more music we have in our life, the better everything is.” Chesney, whose ad for the streaming music service appeared in November, said Apple Music was a good way to connect with his fan base — dubbed the No Shoes Nation.

“The fact that I can take my fans by the hand and drag them along with me is pretty exciting,” he said. “Look, I love music and my fans love music, and we can share that together.”

In his minute-long ad, Chesney says that “somewhere along the way, we forgot how much music really matters. So we need a place where music is treated with real reverence and respect. A place that’s got a human element, a human touch. Music, it’s the last real thing we got. So we need all the songs we want… great songs recommended by people who live it.”

The fluffy GMA segment also featured a brief moment with Apple Music’s head of content, Larry Jackson, who gushed over Chesney’s involvement with the streaming service. “Kenny Chesney is an institution,” he said. “I’m just happy he liked the idea and that he trusted in us. It was so unique and special to him… it was incredible. I love’em.”

Other notables to appear in Apple Music marketing include Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Leon Bridges, Pharrell and others.
