Who better for the pop star to discuss the move with than Julie Greenwald, the chairman and CEO of her new home at Atlantic Records Group. The pair will join moderator Ann Powers to discuss their careers in a male-dominated music business at the “Music’s Leading Ladies Speak Out” session at the upcoming Music Biz 2017 conference in Nashville.
Aside from discussing her big move from RCA to Atlantic for studio album number eight, Clarkson will chat about her “amazing whirlwind ride through the music industry over the past 15 years,” said James Donio, president of Music Biz. “She is definitely a role model, and we look forward to hearing the career insights she has gained so far. We expect that everyone in our audience — especially aspiring young professionals — will be inspired by her experiences as a songwriter, recording artist, live performer, wife, and mother.”
Sponsored by Nielsen Music, the “Leading Ladies” session will be held Tuesday, May 16 at Renaissance Nashville Hotel in Nashville. The event will also feature a presentation from Nielsen’s senior vp Erin Crawford and explore this year’s theme of “Creative Partnerships.”
Last year’s inaugural session featured Vivien Lewit of YouTube, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, and “Girl Crush” (Little Big Town) songwriters the Love Junkies.
